i think its probably worth buying a canon body just to be able to use the canon L series lenses - the nikons are alot more expensivve and certainly not more sharp.
dont get to down with it though, until you have given it a try out in the summer when you've got enough light |

It's probably just me though - i've taken *some* OK photos with it.
Patience is not one of my virtues
If I'm still not getting on with it in a few months, I'll sell it and buy something different. |

Recently I did use the Bigma whilst my Canon lens was being repaired and I enjoyed using it, I still rate that lens highly, although for absolute resolution it can't touch the Canon, it beats it for versatility.
One point I've just been testing today; avoid cheap UV filters! I've always bragged they made no difference, I was wrong.  The one I have on my Bigma without a doubt reduces the quality of the image. |
