Wing blur does it spoil shots?

Slightly off topic

I was at Brownsea whilst the Beeb were doing autumn watch.

Was chatting to some of their photographers who were
filming flight shots on feeders at 1500 frames per sec !!!!

They could go up to 2000, but didn't feel it was necessary.

Went out boxing day to try and get some flight shot of ducks, more practice
The ducks did not oblige perhaps it had something to do with dogs trying their best to add them to their christmas menu or kids throwing sticks stones and whatever they could find to throw in the water. Anyway the ducks either left, or stayed put safe in the middle of the lake. But it did keep the gulls moving. I had a shutter speed around 1/2500Sec. Not sure if this was over kill or right? and if I used a lower shutter speed would have allowed me to work at a lower ISO (640) First pic to show range the rest crops. They seem to look better on Full size
