| | | Re: egrets in environment Yes that's an interesting way to look at bird photography. I am with you, it's good to show your subject in it's environment. i find all those close up shots that we see very interesting and brilliantly done but it is good to see a subject in it's surroundings.
I love the way these Egrets 'dance" when they are feeding and it looks like that is what's happening here. |

| | | Re: egrets in environment Beautiful shots and particularly liked the last one with the water droplets falling off the bird, really nice, and yes it is good to also see shots of birds in their environment.

| | | Re: egrets in environment Definitely like these as I'm often guilty of just trying to get a great close up with as much detail as possible without showing the birds surroundings.
I think with this being a white bird they work very well, the bird is still the main focus of the photograph but we get the chance to appreciate the surroundings the photograph was taken in as well.

| | | Re: egrets in environment Beautifully captured images. I have to agree with the comments about catching birds in their environment. I think it allows you to see the birds more naturally and appreciate their own personalities and the traits of the birds... like the egrets dancing. I was lucky enough to spot my first egret this week. It must have been washing in "Daz" or something because the whites were unbelievable white even at 30 degrees. . Beautiful.

| | | Re: egrets in environment Thanks for the kind comments! Egrets are a bit of a favourite of mine!
I'm guilty of extreme close ups too! Just bought a 500mm f4.5 to get closer! ha ha. It was after looking through my library of shots and realised how similar most of them look.
Happy snapping!

| | | Re: egrets in environment I think these are excellent. To me this is really beautiful the protrait shots that often prevail are often excellent and stunning but less often beautiful |

You should have seen the looks we were getting from the police that where zooming up and down next to us. Probably thought Stu was a sniper and I was the getaway driver ! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
