| | Red Kites Hi there!
Just got around to processing some shots from Rhayader, Wales. Would recommend a visit there to anyone.
A bird photographers dream. There must have been twenty Red Kites. I left with a masive grin on my face just from the experience.
Got to go back and improve on my shots. But here's a few. |

| | | Re: Red Kites If you go, make sure to book a place in a hide. You won't get general public bothering you and a better view of the birds!
And stay to the very end of the day. The Kites return aftern the 'hoards' of day trippers leave
regards.
Stu.
Thanks all for the replys |

| | | Re: Red Kites Fantastic pics....how did you get them so clear?
I went there today and mine were poor to acceptable, although the rubbish light didn't help
I didn't go in the bit that you book though, which also didn't help, as my tripod didn't really fit in behind the shelf on the hide.
You've inspired me to go back on a nicer day though! |

Jim | Momji1971 These images are excellent, tack sharp. I would imaging you are very pleased with them.
I agree with Jim above. I' m hoping to get there soon and would appreciate any help with settings, best hide to be in etc. Also is it necessary to use a tripod, will a monopod do?

By Rhayader, I assume you mean Gigrin.
We went last year and booked the Tower Hide and it was well worth it. We were high up above the other hides and had very good views. The numbers allowed to use this hide at any one are limited so this means that you should have enough room.
I took a monopod and abandoned it by and large. The action was so thick and fast and I resorted to hand held. Others may have different views on this.
Fantastic trip. I have never taken so many snaps in such a short space of time.
