Hi all.
Firstly let me make it quite clear that I am asking this question on behalf of an acquaintance of mine.
This acquaintance has recently bought a Sigma 150mm macro lens, brand new I might add. Apparently there is no auto/manual focus switch on the lens. The lens was bought in Nikon fit as he uses a Nikon D300.
On the instructions for the lens it says and these are the words he used "'Sigma AF, Canon AF and Nikon AF'. For auto focus operation, set the focus mode switch to the AF position. For manual focusing move the switch to the M position'. But right at the very top it says, for Nikon this lens functions as auto-focus. Nowhere does it say Nikon cameras do not need an AF M switch. Also under'Sigma, Canon and Nikon it says the lens can be manually focused when on auto by pressing the shutter button halfway and then turning the focus ring."
This acquaintance isn't very experienced in photography and as I'm a Canon man and I wouldn't know if this is normal for a Nikon fit lens or not.
Any help or advice appreciated
Roger
