I am rather pleased with this one so please be gentle. I welcome any constructive criticism to help me make this a 20/20
Thanks

Also the yellow "picture by sticky" doesnt add a great deal I know copyright is important but using photoshop to apply a more subtle transparent effect would allow better apreciation of the picture

| | | Re: Go on then Slate it Eeyore pretty much said it. Basically a good pic.
Blur the background a touch and lose the billboard ad
... I'd use a sharpening brush set to about 10% on the lizard too

| | | Re: Go on then Slate it I don't know.... I quite like this photograph as it is (minus the yellow lettering!), It certainly illustrates the camouflage properties of the lizard and how much the bark and the wood resembles it's skin.
Eeyore's suggestion is good it might make a prettier picture, but like I said, I do quite like it as it is |

| | | Re: Go on then Slate it I would certainly loose the dead leaf on the top left of the image, and also try a letterbox crop, although this would cut off part of the tail. A subjective decision. Otherwise, fine. |

| | | Re: Go on then Slate it Personally I feel the lizard is somewhat lost in the busy areas of the image and doesn't really attract the eyes attention. Less dof or guassian blur would reduce the competing elements. Dropping the view point may also help. I've tweaked a copy of the image (if that is acceptable?) and attached it. A hi pass filter layer was added to increase the sharpness on the lizard and then a quick blast around with a blur brush. A slight increase in saturation and some pruning of the background finished it off |

| | | Re: Go on then Slate it i would like to see it closer to fill frame ditch yellow letters to me it looks like focus is on body not eye usually essential to get eye pin sharp smaller aperture no would blurr background .
what camera please
nice lizard and you can get good idea of skin detail and scale (size)
i am looking at this on my work monitor (uncalibrated) so definition shows picture slightly soft is picture truly sharp?
hope all this is usefull
also crop to top of log background is of no value here |

The tweaked copy is perhaps more attractive but the effectiveness of the camouflage - how well matched the little lizard is to it's surroundings has been lost a little - obviously as a result of making it more obvious I suppose!! |

| | | Re: Go on then Slate it I feel the leaves at the bottom of the picture is the main distraction. All other vegetation etc.would be acceptable IMHO. Cropping would remove part of the tail but careful 'cloning' could remove them.
However the YELLOW LETTERING spoils it completely. Surely much smaller print positioned as discretely as possible would be suffice.
However in general it is a very nice image. Again what one likes another doesn't! That is why it is such a subjective issue.
