| | | Re: first pic ever, pointers? funny you should ask that! i used photoshop cs2 for the robin pic, re-sized it, cropped it, changed the colours and that had the info you reqd. but with the mallard, i didnt touch it at all, i uploaded it to my computer, and then uploaded it to this site, it didnt even touch photoshop, and it doesnt have any exif info! now im confused!! |

I don't know it will take someone who knows your camera to tell if you could have done that. Or maybe someone else has some idea of why it isn't there.

Even if colours are acceptable there is usually a need to sharpen the image a bit beyond what the camera does. A bit of 'correct' sharpening can make all the difference.
Worth giving it a try using Unsharp Mask! There are already a few threads on sharpening. One as recent as last week.

There's one thing I will add to John D's advice re: processing in Photoshop CS 2, and that is; if you do go that route, set all camera settings to zero (sharpening, saturation etc). The reason being that these built-in options are somewhat aggressive, and you have far more control using CS 2, plus, it's not a good idea to have two sets of sharpening etc.
Exif data should accompany all digital images, but if you use the Photoshop "Save For Web" action, it strips away this information.

| | | Re: first pic ever, pointers? bub-les said it in the 3rd post! im to new to this to trick you yet  !! haha. but just to add to the confusion, when i looked at my camera, it WAS on tungsten setting!! whether it had been when i actually took the pic i'll never know  , maybe i should stop pressing buttons when i dont know what they do?  haha |

Its ok to play with the settings just remember what you've done then you can try it out and learn what happens with the various settings.
