| | | David Bailey I aint!!! Help!!
I have decieded to get a bit more into photography than my old nikon sure shot.So I have bought a Canon 400d but some of the jargon is confusing me.When it says in the booklet (that comes with camera) if you have a zoom lens use the telephoto end for certain shots what does this mean, or if you have a zoom lens set it to wide angle. I got 1 lens with the camera canon efs 18-55 and I bought(not really knowing what I was buying) a tamron af55-200mm f/4.56. Someone help me get started |

Someone help me get started | the telephoto end of a long lens like 55-200mm would be the 200 end. If you used it on 50 it would be the wider angled end. Hope that helps Try this link for more info. Great camera, I have one too Canon EOS Beginners' FAQ III - Lenses

| | | Re: David Bailey I aint!!! The 18 end of your 18 - 55mm should be wide enough for pretty much most of your shots though. |

| | | Re: David Bailey I aint!!! I bought a Canon EOS400D last June it came with the 18-55mm lens,Not used this lens much at all . I have since purchased a Sigma 50- 500mm for photographing Birds wouldnt be without it. Also had a Sigma 28-300mm great for everyday and not as heavy as the 50-500mm. I am looking to get the Sigma 150mm Macro lens that will do me for now.
Just keep practicing and looking on some off the past threads there is loads off information and advice on here. Anything you dont understand someone will have the answers for you on here they are brilliant and so helpful.

One of the best ways to find your way around a camera is to join your local camera club. They will help you understand where you are going wrong and put you on the right track as they have all been there and have experienced the confusion. A lot of the time its easier to understand the answer with someone showing you than it is by reading.
Hope this helps
