How do I know?

Hello!

Sorry to ask such an obvious question. But I was wondering how I know whether the quality of my photo is good enough to post in the Gallery. I've uploaded a reduced size, but could upload the full size which would be big enough for the Gallery. Also I know I'd have to take away or reduce the size of my signature on the photo. Anyways, again, sorry for the silly question, I've included a photo as example, which is one of my better ones.

the simplest way is to upload your shot to the Gallery and if we think it's good enough we'll accept it.

Your blue tit image looks like it would be good enough, so upload an 800 pixel version and one of the editors will have a look. Title it in the form 'Blue Tit - Parus caeruleus'.

Thanks for that, matt. I just don't want to waste the editors' time with photos that aren't good enough.

Looks sharp to me. Send it in and see what happens. If I was being ultra critical, I would try cropping a fraction tighter on the top and left edge. Difficult to be sure, but it might make the bird look a bit more important.
