| | | Camera advice I'm in the process of looking to upgrade my camera. I do quite a lot of walking and like to put my pictures onto my website. I am currently using a Fuji Finepix S5500 which I have had for a few years and have been fairly happy with. The replacement I have in mind is the Fuji Finepix S8000 fd mainly because all the controls look similar to my current one.
I would appreciate it if anybody who maybe as a S8000 fd could say what their feelings are.
Please note it is more for Landscape than Wildlife.
Many thanks,
Dave

Dave | Hi, I have just purchased the S8000fd. I'm very happy with it, small, light and an impressive 18x opticle zoom. My only problem is the weather since I've had it Can't wait to take it out and have a real play with it. I'll upload some pictures once I have some.
BWD

| | Re: Camera advice Hi,
I compared my S5600's full zoom with the S8000fd and - it may have just been an angle - I'm not sure there was that much more 'closeness'. Zoom Stats:
S5600 - 35-300mm
S8000fd - 27-486mm
Perhaps this is because the initial Wide-angle zoom is wider, this accounts for my, and it may only be my, perception of the lens not getting much closer at the Telephoto end?
I'm looking at the Panasonic FZ18...
