PS Elements workflow

Hi all,
I use PS elements 4 to process images from my camera. The way I do it is as follows in a moment and was just wondering if there is any particular order this should be done, or does it matter.

1: I view the image in full screen mode to determine the best ones out of any batch to use.

2: If any cropping is to be done I do that next.

3: The image is resized then to the final output size.

4: I then select any areas of the image that are to be enhanced, contrast colour etc and do that.

5: Next stage is to apply any unsharp mask if needed.

6: Finally I save the edited version of the image giving it a different file name to the original, leaving the original intact.

I may be doing this totally wrong, I just don't know. Any views or suggestions on my method welcomed.

only thing I would add is Save the master file before you sharpen the image, ie after step 4. This is because depending the sharpening required will depend on the final output needed, web, print etc etc. I also carry out all my adjustments before I resize so the saved master is a full frame tiff file

The main thing I do that isn't there is "selectively" apply things like hue/sat and sharpening adjustments. I rarely apply these to the whole image or make a selection - I use brushes.

My general worklflow is pretty much the same order as yours.
