| | | Back lit shots Hi all, Today gave me the chance to practice some backlit shots. It's something I've always been rather cautious of doing because in the past I've always got it wrong and had more or less decided that I couldn't do it.
However after seeking advice from some of you in a previous thread I gave it a go this morning and I must say I'm happy with the results. These were taken at ISO 400, f 7.1, - 2/3rds exposure compensation and what Canon term partial metering.
Any further advice or comments good or bad would be appreciated
Thanks

| | | Re: Back lit shots nothing wrong with those Roger, I'd say you got the exposure just right. They're very nice shots.

| | | Re: Back lit shots Thanks for looking and commenting folks. I thought they looked ok, but it's always good to get other views and it has given me the confidence to take shots on like this when I am out in the field. These were taken in my front garden so the setting was pretty ideal
Thanks again

| | | Re: Back lit shots These are all excellent Roger.
I've long had to deal with back light, from my garden hide, it's the only type of light I get. |

Roger | Hi Roger
sorry I sent a message before I saw the thread. I see what you are trying to achieve, hHm I think the background is a little too bland and the effect I see what you are trying to achieve but it looks a little contrived to me, perhaps a little less back lighting?? I think you have a good idea .....nearly there. Suggest a little less backlighting what d'ya reckon?
Jon
