| | | Head above the Parapet .... ..... shoot away Guys!! This was my 1st attempt at digiscoping at Whitacre Heath nature reserve about 15mins drive away. The equipment was loaned to me as the guy concerned saw a post asking about it on another forum ..... he lives round the corner from me !
I thouroughly enjoyed myself and decided then &ther to get a DSLR - someting I said I wouldn't do as I knew I would start getting all the gear again ( new lens comes on Friday & a nother one next month .... see what I mean )
No1 - Kingfisher ... just incase it's that bad you can't tell
No2 - Little Egret .... 1st one Ive ever seen

| | Re: Head above the Parapet .... Nice shots Nick. Heaps better than my first digiscoping efforts. They both lack sharpness as you are probably aware. Eliminating this with digiscoping is probably the biggest single challenge. The whites in the egret are a little burnt out also, but its difficult with a moving subject walking towards you!!You sound as though you have chosen the DLSR route, me too, in the end.
I have had a look at some of your Gallery images, love the woodland shots.

David | Thanks David,
Well to be honest I've not decided to go DSLR fully. I'm thinking of getting a scope later on (it's my birthday next month ) and I was looking to get a digiscoping set up that I can carry as a "just in case"
Woodlands are easy ..... they don't move |

| | | Re: Head above the Parapet .... Hi Nick, digiscoping is geat fun and the power of the scope means you don;t have to get so close. If that's the way you decide then good luck and happy birthday

| | | Re: Head above the Parapet .... has anyone had experience of putting a DSLR on the back of a scope to get best of both worlds ? - Ive often been tempted to try this to get those shots where 600mm just isnt enough - but been put off by the price of decent scopes and the adaptors.

I think it was a canon 20d hence the slightly fuzzy foto as I wasn't used to either bits of kit and you don't have auto focus through a scope well thats my excuse anyway
