| | | 3-D macro shots I quite often do 3-D pairs shots often with each pic focus stacked. These are done by taking one pic(s) and then moving the camera sideways about 1/30th of the subject distance and taking another pic(s)- for macro shots the movement may be as little as 5-10mm. The shots are then put together as a pair in stereophotomaker (freeware prog). This is used to align the pictures properly (the elements in the 2 picture should be aligned horizontally) and then the pics are swapped over to make a cross-eye stereogram. There are various rules to doing this such ar arranging the stereo depth so that none of the picture actually touches the window frame (it should all be behind it unless you can do a clean through the window effect without it touching the sides).
These can be viewed as is by slightly de-focusing your eyes and then cross them until an image appears in the middle and then relax your eyes to get a stable 3-D image. It's worth the trouble!
But don't overdo it if you have difficulty- try again later.(headache warning).
Another method is to hold a finger up about 3 " in front of your nose and focus on it (this forces you to go cross-eyed). If you then look at the picture pair you should see 3 pictures, if you gently slide your finger out the way whilst concentrating on the third middle pic you should be able to stabilise the 3-D image.
All the separate pics in these shots are also focus stacked.

Made me go a bit funny mind, but nobody noticed.

What a brilliant idea!!
I have been staring at the screen for ages now, but couldn't see anything except three photos instead of two, but then I had a look at the link and Hey Presto I could see the Dew Drop one!!
Amazing
We won't be needing WAB badges now to recognise each other.....we'll all be boss eyed and bumping into everything!!
Excellent pictures !! I'm going to see if I can see anymore now! (after I've sorted my eyes out ) |
