| | | my first proper go at macro these are a few of the plants in my garden. i have tried to take on board the critique from a previous post, so here are some new ones, hopefully better than the first lot!
first one red campion and burburus....
second one perennial honesty flower....
third one herb robert....
fourth white fumitory? (we think we bought it up north with another plant....
fifth one an earwig on our bluebells, although i was just going for bluebells....
sixth one gorse (with flash as it was getting quite dark at this point....
final one bracken...again with flash because of the darkness looming..

Careful - Macro can be quite adictive !
(Then you need to carry an extra lens on every outing) |

| | | Re: my first proper go at macro Macro is definitely very addictive It's teaching me a lot about what I'm photographing too - in terms of morphology and behaviour, because I'm looking in such detail. Now I walk along with eyes fixed on foliage rather than taking in the views! |

| | | Re: my first proper go at macro Nice shots, keep your eyes equally open for distractions in the background. It is a good idea to say mentally what is this going to be a picture of? Do I need this or that in the frame? Does this add to the image or does it detract.
Hope this helps
Jon

| | | Re: my first proper go at macro Thanks almostnormal, you have inadvertantly ID'd a plant that has self seeded in my garden for me with your first photo of Red Campion
I prefer Macro photography these day - I seem to have better results now I have mastered it.
Lovely photo's by the way! |

i should clarify that i was in macro mode when i took them, i've tried to get really close up to a couple of bugs in super macro but by the time i manage to focus they've usually flown away, or crawled away in some cases!

| | | Re: my first proper go at macro Once you catch bugs close up you will be even more addicted. The bugs do tend to fly away but if you're patient they often come back soon after ...honest
