| | | Re: Feedback the two biggest improvements I would suggest would be
a) to lie down to get a more horizontal shot - at the min you have the dreaded "my dog" angle, particularly on the top two
and
b) most of the ducks are swimming out of the frame - as with birds in flight and with deer (and most everything else ) youneed to leave about a 1/3 of the frame for them to swim into
also in the top shot the ducks dont appear to be quite sharp , it appears that the focus point was on the water in the middle
hope that is helpful

| | | Re: Feedback thanks mate, i also noticed that about the top photo, so lie down and leave some room for the bird to swim into, i am very happy with the bottom one though

| | | Re: Feedback yep thats the best of the bunch - to be hyper critical I would have left a bit more space at the bottom as you have slightly cropped her reflection , and as i said leave a bit more space in front of her and a bit less behind and you would have a winner.

| | | Re: Feedback well done on remembering your rule of thirds - but when it says "a third of the way in" you really ought to take the third in the direction the subject is facing - here your subject is effectively on the 2/3 line which is okay for small subjects but on a duck close up doesnt give much room to the front
edit : sorry this was a reply to your post 2 above

| | | Re: Feedback On your second set of pics the fungus on the log has potential , but i would have framed a bit more to the left to include the whole log end and to reduce the dead space onthe right hand side.
2nd one down the horizon is severely tilted - big no no
3rd one is a good composition but the light is a bit flat - if you took this again at sunrise/sunset or with a more interesting sky you would be on to something
and the bottom two are basically fungi record / ID shots that i'm not qualified to comment on as i know nuttin about fungus , but they dont do a lot for me artistically speaking.

| | | Re: Feedback i also like the 1st one, the second one is very tilted - not done on purpose, the third one looks a bit plain to me, the two fungus are collared earthstars and i like the pics, i thought they looked quite good

| | | Re: Feedback I like the third of the duck photos. With the male turning away making water ripples and the female looking on. Captures a bit more of a 'moment' for me than the others. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
