| | | advice on lightroom I recently bought a new camera for digiscoping and it came with lightroom 3.5. I was hoping for a few tips on how to use it. I used photo shop 7 for several years and dont have that anymore.
Lightroom is completely new to me so any help would be much appreciated. I take pictures in raw
Thanks in advance mark |

| | | Re: advice on lightroom The quickest way to learn is to go to Youtube and enter "lightroom 3 tutorial for beginners" in the search box. There are loads of step by step tutorials. I found that the easiest way to get to grips with it. It's also worth reading the user guide/manual/help files.
If you've got a registered copy of 3.5 I recommend updating to 3.6 which should be free from the Lightroom website. |

I've just had a quick look through the pdf and was wondering is it possible to selectively sharpen with lightroom?
I used to sharpen in ps and then hide it using a layer mask. This then allows you to rub out the mask revealing the sharpened image below. For example if you just want to sharpen the eyes

You can do local sharpening using the Adjustment Brush. It's not as flexible as a layer mask in PS, but it works.
