Photoshop will end blurry images forever

Its a sneak of a future feature of a future photoshop release.
Analysis blurry pics and repairs them (but not out of focus pics).

Part of me feels it is a bit wrong to do this as it takes away a bit of the togs skill, but is it any different to sharpen pics etc

Thats quite impressive. We'll see how it does in real world tests but I can see how it could work in theory

I found it impressive and whilst not 100% sure about how it will affect people view of photography (i.e its all the software etc ) can't help and think of some record type shots I have took that could be improved. Wonder also what the quality of the final pic will be as the video is shot from a distance with no real close ups.

This sort of thing has been discussed for some time. It is like the technology which gives vehicle number plate recognition.

But it needs to know what the correct image should look like. Which is relatively easy for letters/numbers but a complicated photo is something quite different.

Clever, and absolutely superb one imagines for low-light shooters.

Pretty soon people will be able to take a photo that's blurred, overexposed and lacking colour and turn it into something marvelous! Photography will be out the window soon and everyone will be into editing their rubbish photos

It looks like a pretty incredible bit of software, but i think that for wildlife its use is still going to be limited as it doesn't account for subject movement. I guess it will be about as useful as adding image stabilisation to a lens. It will give you a bit more of chance but wont make things radically different! Probably just a few more keepers at the end of a days shooting. Im sure some people out there will find some interesting and imaginative ways of using it though.

As Geoff says, the technology isn't new.

"Topaz in-focus" had some very impressive samples when it was released a few months back, but when I tried it out for myself I found it was actually next to useless on nearly all my photos. It could recover details quite well, but on anything but straight lines it would always produce halo artefacts, making it pointless.

Don't get your hopes up too much about it, I'd hope that it'll be good enough to recover a useable web sized image from one that's a bit blurred, but I really doubt it'll be any better than that with complex detail like bird feathers.

Looks good in principle, and can understand how it might work. But cant see it working for the majority of photos in real life. It will certainly make the image less blurred, but compared to an actual sharp image, well there will be no comparison.
