| | | CS4 save as .JPEG I'm a bit lost here, some have seen my thread regarding HDR/AEB on 450D. I now have an image which I have merged but cannot save it as a .JPEG, it doesn't give me the option.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Nige |

Thanks,
Nige | Have you tried saving it as .png, and reloading and saving again as .jpg?
I seem to remembering having to do this in the past. |

| | | Re: CS4 save as .JPEG I don't get that option. Only get the following:
.PSD .PDD
.PSB
.EXR
.PBM .PGM .PPM .PNM .PFM .PAM
.HGR .RGBE .XYZE
.TIF .TIFF
I'll try some of those in the way you mentioned.
EDIT: None of those seem to give me the JPEG option still.
Thanks,
Nige

| | | Re: CS4 save as .JPEG I don't actually know but I suspect that once saved as a TIFF which is a full size no compression then you can go to File, Save as and then alter to a jpeg in the drop down menu????

| | | Re: CS4 save as .JPEG Yeah tried that but still only get the above options. I wonder if I need to convert it to something before saving it?? The 3 photos I used before merging were all .JPG

| | | Re: CS4 save as .JPEG You should be able to Save As a Jpeg, Nige.
I suspect there is something in your edited files which is preventing this option; which creates a non reversible file. Is everything totally merged and you don't have 'smart objects' or something similar?
Or one of the options which you are offered when trying to save needs altering. I'm thinking about 'save as a copy' or something similar. |

| | | Re: CS4 save as .JPEG You've done a merge, have you flattened the image? If you haven't flattened it, the jpeg option isn't available.
(Layers,Flatten image.)
I should add that this does what it says, flattens all the layers down to a single image. Once you've done this you can then save it as a jpeg. Once you've done that you've lost the options to change the layers so make sure you've saved a version before you flatten it, should you wish to work on individual layers again.

Reason: addition.

| | | Re: CS4 save as .JPEG Ah haven't flattened it...I'll try that tomorrow thanks. I'll also try converting to 8 or 16-bit if that fails.
Will let you know.

| | | Re: CS4 save as .JPEG You need to convert the image to 8 bits per channel to save as a jpeg. Click image / mode / 8 bits/channel. You should then have the option to save as a jpeg.
