| | | Elements 9 not for XP? I just found Photoshop Elements for just over £50 but it states platforms Vista or windows 7, XP is not mentioned. So which is the latest Elements I can use with XP?

| | | Re: Elements 9 not for XP? Adobe lists XP SP2 as compatible, as per Adobe Photoshop Elements 9: System requirements but to answer as to what version will work on XP then Elements 8 definitely does, however it will be slow on anything less than a couple of GB of memory. |

| | | Re: Elements 9 not for XP? I haven't heard of any problems when using XP so stating that it will work on Vista or 7 is probably just to reassure users of those newer systems.
Some older software isn't compatible with 7.
Adobe CS5 certainly works fine with XP. Although you do need a bit of computer power as Bob mentioned. |

| | | Re: Elements 9 not for XP? As has been mentioned, Elements 9 should work with XP2 + service pack 2.
But, depending on your computer you may get caught out by its need for a minimum of 800 pixels (height) on your monitor. (If you have a laptop or monitor of less than 800 pixels in height, you can't get Elements 9's advanced photo download dialogue to work.

| | | Re: Elements 9 not for XP? I think I can manage Elements 9 then, my computer is a back up gaming device for my son so until 12 months ago it would play anything. I am told it is due for an upgrade which doing it myself will be just around the £800 mark
so as I can use four gig of dd3 RAM

| | | Re: Elements 9 not for XP? Elements works fine on XP sp 2 and upwards. I run 7 ult @ 16Gb/Phenom 6core which means it screams along. But as long as you have a min of 1 gb it will run. (2gb would be opt) altho' resolution van be a problem as mentioned previously.
