Its native resolution is the actual number of picture elements (pixels), and while you may be able to force the graphics driver to feed it with a higher resolution, you won't actually see more pixels. In any event, most if not all monitors will simply reject the attempt and display an error message. |

| | | Re: Help wanted with using Elements 9 Apologies Nutmeg, I've been leading you up the garden path.
My laptop has a native pixel resolution of 1280 x 800, but I always run it through a separate (larger) Hewlett Packard LCD monitor at pixel resolution of 1920 x 1200.
I've had it configured this way for so long, I was assuming that the laptop on its own would go up to the 1920 x 1200.
However, (just tried it), when I disconnect the HP monitor, I can only get 1280 x 800 as the maximum resolution.
Re the Elements 9 - If you aren't going to be able to get any benefit from that version over your previous version because of not having 800 pixel resolution on your machine, I would suggest that you have a very strong case for getting your money back, since there is no mention of needing that pixel requirement either on the product itself, or on Adobe's "system requirements" webpage for the product.
Regards,
Mike.

Mike, I think I might get an external monitor - one which I can calibrate. I'm finding I can't judge colour well on the laptop screen and an external monitor would give me back Elements functionality too.
So I'll probably be looking for monitor suggestions |
