| | | Editing using Nikon software Just bought a new Nikon 300s and after taking a few trial shots, tried to download it to the PC. With my previous camera ( Nikon D80 ) I used Picture Project, the sofware provided with the camera. Picture Project doesn't work with the D300s, so I used the software given with the new camera. Success was acheived though the basic editing is a little more complicated than Picture Project.
A rather long winded start but my 'very' simple question is :-
How do I crop images in Nikon ViewNx??
Thanks for any responses,

| | | Re: Editing using Nikon software Hi Bob,
Select a photo to edit, make sure you're in 'Image Viewer' or 'Full Screen'.
Click on the 3rd icon from the left in the toolbar - 'Edit'
That brings up an 'Adjustment' panel to the right hand side of the main image area.
Scroll down and you'll find 'Crop' below 'Color Booster'.
Hope that helps,

| | | Re: Editing using Nikon software Hi Bob,
Think I've sussed the problem. I bet you're using ViewNx aren't you, not the update ViewNx2?
I found an old version of ViewNx on my hd. and couldn't find a crop tool either.
I suggest you update to ViewNx2 (it's a free update from Nikon) which has quite a few improvements over the earlier version (including a crop tool )
Cheers,

| | | Re: Editing using Nikon software Rog,
Thanks again for the quick response. I've just gone to the Nikon website and am currently downloading the viewnx2 version. I'll let you know how I get on.
It's so good to get such help from someone who knows what they are doing, but what annoys me is I've just spent over £1000 on the camera and included is software that is out of date. Goodness know how much time I'd have wasted, trying to work things out on my own.
Thanks again,

Just started using the new downloaded version and I've found the edit icon. Played about with it and all looks fine.
Thanks again,
