| | | Photo Editing in Windows 7 Just a quick query to find out if anybody else has had any problems with hidden bugs within Windows 7 .
I was putting a Slide show presentation of the sons Wedding together with music added using Proshow Gold Edition 4 have had no problems with this before until I updated system to Windows 7.
Since the update can carry out all of the work and editing but the porgram cannot find the DVD Drive to burn the presentation, search the Photdex who make the program for updates non available did a searcch of net and found that other people were having same problem.
Myself and a friend spent a day on this trying to get it to work and the only way around it was to save the whole presentation as an ISO file to the desktop and take it into Nero and burn it that way.
Was wondering if others were having similer problems?

| | | Re: Photo Editing in Windows 7 Hi Bob yes we tried everything any upgrades that were available from the software we done but nothing still the problem existed ,and it seems to be a problem that a few other people are experiancing with this program and Windows 7 some of them have said they have been in touch with Microsoft but no resolution has been forth coming or in reverse from Photdex owner of Pro Show Gold .
The only way we got it to work was to save as an ISO to desk top and burn using Nero and it works a treat ,its just that Pro Show Gold is a great program for making slide presentation shows

| | | Re: Photo Editing in Windows 7 Hi Bill,
If you can do everything other than for the Proshow programme burning a disc, have you tried just saving the finished slideshow as a file, and then simply using drag & drop to copy that file to a blank DVD disc?
Must admit, I haven't tried this with jpeg/video, but it certainly works when dragging compilation music files to blank discs.
This type of "non backward compatibility" when the Windows Operating System is upgraded exists with many third party/OEM programs, and is simply another way that we are forced to pay out yet more money to get exactly what we had previously. - There is no reason whatsoever as far as I'm concerned, that Microsoft cannot maintain backward compatibility within their programming - it is simply that they will not!
Regards,
Mike. |

| | | Re: Photo Editing in Windows 7 Used to be a beta tester for MIcrosoft and huge amnounts of vendors are also on the beta program and the big boys like HP and Dell and major software houses also, but despite this some vendors just don't seem to bother, I have installed quite a few windows 7 systems into corporate networks and the biggest issues we see is that vendors like HP just dont have the updated drivers available. Their is one major UK accounting vendor that still hasn't got a windows 7 update available despite promises it will be ready last April, so the blame isn't always Microsoft. |

| | | Re: Photo Editing in Windows 7 Yes like you said you would think that the vendors or microsoft would come up with the updated drivers so existing programs would work ,butr like you say Mike its another way for them to make money .
But I got it all working in the end I saved the finished slide presentation as an ISO file to the desktop then opened it up and burnt it using Nero software works a treat.
I was just wondering at the time of posting if other people had come across problems with programs or software since upgrading to Windows 7 as I discovered with this mishap with Proshow Gold and a few others that I disccovered on the internet
