I had my camera set up to take photos at our pond when I suddenly saw a sparrowhawk land in a tree at the bottom of the garden, I turned and started taking photos. Unfortunately, I did not check the settings and this is the result: 
As you can see it is more a silhouette than anything. You have my permission to play around with it. If it is possible, then I shall crop the pic.

Thank you Nick, I like what you have done. All I need now is to be able to see the bird's colours. I shall take a leaf from your book and "declutter" other pics. Thank you for the tip.

Try this Christina... 
I applied +1.2 stops of exposure compensation just to the bird and then enhanced the vibrance of the whole image.

I must become more "arty" with my photos stevecn, who knows what I might come up with. I really liked the original of your avatar, I read/saw in a thread.
