I use Serif Photo Plus and was surprised to learn that Elements 8 and below don't have layers and masks as an editing option. | Elements 7 certainly has layers as an editing option.
As for Elements 9, I was talking with a friend about it and he was particularly impressed with the contextual fill capability, enabling unwanted items to be edited out without the need for cloning, but by letting the program itself figure out what needed putting in the gap. (I hope that makes sense... it sounded quite useful) |

I dont use Photoshop but generally just tweek my pics in the software that came with one of our cameras (Canon zoom browser X).
I dont use RAW, no idea how.
Would I benefit fron Photoshop and more to the point would I understand how to use it? |
