Right think I might be cooking with gas now big bill. It's all staring to make sense. Tuesday morning has been set aside for learning all of this.

You know when I've finally got it I shall be uploading hundreds of pics for critique. ( and driving you all mad )

Just to let you know that with your help I've sussed it.

Reading your advice I realised ( as I suspected ) that I was using the wrong method to download the pics. So, I used Canon EOS Utility. Everything fell into place then.

I had not used it before ( memo to use my instruction manual ).

Your comment regarding the use of instruction manuals makes me remember a few years back when I had a problem with my boat radar (until taking early retirement last year I was a commercial fisherman for over 30 years).

The marine electrician spent a day trying all sorts of things before finally saying, in total exasperation, 'It's no use, there is only one thing left, I'm going to have to open the instruction manual'. And thereafter, the job was completed within 30 minutes.

I only paid for the successful work!

Glad you got it sussed out ,but the idea of seperate folder for Pics is a good one give it a try if you dont like you can always revert back to your original way

Yes thank you big bill. I've been having a play about with that too and it seems an easy way to find the files.
