| | | Image Manipulation Just to show what a careful bit of editing can do to improve a shot.
The OOF tit in the background was too distracting, from what I thought was a decent, sharp shot, of this Blue Tit.
I thought I'd try to get rid of it. So with a careful bit of use of the 'Patch' & 'Healing' tools managed this.....
You can still see where the OOF bird was, but I think I've almost got it right.
What does the Team think? |

| | | Re: Image Manipulation It is very good, without the tale told I would not see the joins, and cloning a graded bit like that is not easy. I took an electric wire out from the full width of a pearly sky, and it nearly brought me to my knees.
Good job there!

| | | Re: Image Manipulation Great use of the editing tools!
At the end of the day, it's produced a cracking photo.
The way I look at it, photography is an art, so if the tools are there to make an image better, that's absolutely fine.
Obviously has to be tempered when considering images destined for competitions etc., where the rules might prohibit such techniques.
Regards,
Mike. |

A bit quicker and easier than cloning in my experience.

| | | Re: Image Manipulation It took me around 3hrs Dave. But that was with a few failed attempts and trying a some other ways of getting rid of the OOF birds.
In the end it was the use of the 'Healing/Clone' tools that did the best job. |

| | | Re: Image Manipulation Nicely done andd like it has been said if you had not mentioned the other bird to the untrained eye no one would have geussed ,good use of the tools maybe some use of the burn and dodge tools could have helped in blending in the background a bit better?

Dave P. | Thanks, I will try that.
