that said if you've only got a few pics to do you can use paint if your computer has it.

j. | I have to admit I use Picasa for exactly the same purpose - just to resize images for WAB.
You choose the file, or batch then hit EXPORT
RESIZE TO 1024 PIXELS
set Image Quality to AUTOMATIC

Originally Posted by lastcornishman ....just gotta figure out how to do it!.... | Hi lastcornishman,
I recently posted this info for another WAB user who wasn't sure of how to upload photos to the Image Library: - If you follow these instructions, I'm sure you will solve your problem: -
NB: There are few restrictions on image size, but: -
# Your photo(s) must not be larger than 1600pixels wide x 1600pixels tall.
# The filesize of any individual photo must not exceed 0.5Mb (512Kb).
I always resize my upload images to 1250 x833pixels, using Paintshop Pro. But any other image editing software will do the job.
To upload the photo’s, click on the “Gallery” tab, below the WAB Page Header Logo, and then click on the “Upload Photos” link, at right hand side. Then click on “Click Here To Upload To Image Library”, at which point the actual upload page will appear.
You must now enter a category for the photo, which is just a matter of using the drop down box, (which by default has the word "unidentified" displayed), and choosing the relevant option.
Then: -
# Click on the top-most "browse" button, which will allow you to browse your computer to locate the image required for upload.
# Select a suitable image by highlighting and then double clicking on the filename for your image, which copies the filename into the empty box beside the " browse" button.
# Repeat, using the remaining "browse" buttons, for any additional images that you are uploading.
At this point, you can enter a title for the photo(s), in the box below the upload list, but you can leave the box blank, which by default, (after upload), will display the filename of you photo as the photo's title.
Now, to complete the process, just click the "upload/submit" button.
Note: If you are uploading more than one photo, a second "processing" page will now appear, where you will get the chance to add different names for each photo.
Once you have uploaded the photos, to find them again, and get them into your forum posts, start a new response post, or a new thread post, and you will see two links "Gallery Images" & "Library Images" at the right hand side of the text entry box.
Just click on the relevant link and a pop-up window showing your photo's will appear.
To get one of your photo's into your post, just click on the thumbnail of the required photo in the pop-up window, and the forum code will automatically be entered in your post.
Once the code is in your post, you can copy & paste it to any chosen cursor point, and you can see what your intended post will look like before submitting it by clicking on the "preview post" tab at the bottom.
NB: The above only applies to the image Library. If you wish to upload photos to the Gallery, then more stringent conditions must be met, and you will need to ensure that your uploads follow these requirements exactly: - http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fo...tml#post541977
Hope that you find this helpful.
Regards,
Mike. |

| | | Re: file size Just as an afterthought, If it is specifically the resizing of your photos that you are having problems with, the details on the image below might help.
It was intended for another WAB member using Paintshop Pro as the image editing software, but the resizing element of most editing programmes should be quite similar to this general procedure : -
Regards,
Mike.
