Thanks for that information Jim and Dave P..... Yep....i`ve sussed it......and so pleased that i had the courage to ask the question. I`ve found the Raw files i`ve taken over the years !!

It`s difficult when you`re learning, as for me i don`t look to make myself look a divvy.....however i`m now more confident to ask, as the advice and help that i`ve been given from you knowledgeable people has been spot on and "far beyond the call of duty"

I have to say a big thank you to you all....especially Big Bill.....you`re all very kind and helpful.

Hello Geoff as for your raw files the first thing I do as soon as i have them on the pc is save them onto a a disc and number it with the date and the raw file numbers ,you may find that you end up with a lot of cds then I know its labourious to consolidate I will make a new file then start consolidating files onto one or more discs again naming each disc with dates and file numbers .
I I also have an external hard drive that I save them to so you have 2 places to go to for the original file hope this helps .

Thanks for your post. Yes i`ve heard it is bloody freezing up there

We were up there mid of October to mid November when it rained and rained....
...(left it a little late this year)....but looking forward to March when we`ll make the journey again....this time hoping for snow and some good photography......not -16 though !! Worse we`ve had is -7 in a blizzard parked on the Cairngorms !!

I had saved all of my photographs over the years on to disc and external hard drive.....so i was made up when i discovered that through Adobe bridge there was all the information and the means to open the files in Camera raw.....even if i had converted them to Jpeg. Just one click and i`ve got the "original" !! ( Well i think that`s how it works in lay man`s terms )

It`s opened up a whole new world to me......and i`m grateful for ALL the help you`ve given me..... truly i am !!...as now i can changed the blown out sky and recover the detail.

Hi Geoff glad to be of assistance always glad to be of help to someone willing to grasp the workings of Adobe ,once you get used to it like I have said to quite a few whom I have converted up here you will never look back ,its just a matter of mastering the finer details of it .
