| | | Re: Which RAW processing program? Agree that the RAW processing engine in LR 3 is leaps and bounds better than LR2. Havent tried out the same engine that is in CS5 yet tbh. I am a convert to Phase One Capture one and have been using all versions since V3. The latest is 5.1, and I still do not believe than any of the other offers come close to it - but that is just my opinion from use. I know many others swear by LR.

However, a free alternative I haven't seen mentioned is Picasa from Google. It doesn't allow slider control of changes and is quite basic but can provide some decent results. |

| | | Re: Which RAW processing program? I use Canon 5D MKi and 5D MKII always in RAW.
I now use Lightroom 3 for first processing and also PaintShopPro Versions 12 and 13 .
I find LR is very good for getting the exposure and colour corrected if need be and PSP for image editing and cropping.
The new LR 3 has the facilities for creating HTML and Flash slide shows and PSP ( if you can find it with Projector ) has the facilities of producing various other display facilities including calendars which I use to give away as free downloads of wildlife and boating wall calendars. |

It looks like they can handle various RAW formats. |

| | | Re: Which RAW processing program? The best processing software we find is Lightroom, it's very quick and once you know your way around apart from major repainting we never touch photoshop these days.
On average we can process, star rate and colour correct around 450 images an hour within lightroom it's a cracking program
We do use Canon's Digital Photo Proffesional (free with Canons DSLR's) when shooting jpegs at events though as it's just shoot and print with very little processing needed
The very best way to learn software BTW is just to have a play you really don't need to use every slider thats there but at least they are there if you need them | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
