Managed to get a pic of a Buzzard, but it was at 17.38 tonight, therfore pic quality not good
Now Purchased Photoshop Elements 4, and working through How To's Etc.
Is it possible to make the photo clearer in Elements 4.
Taken with Fuji S5000 auto setting 6mb TCON 1.7 attached

| | | Re: Anyway to enhance this photo Auto Smart Fix in the general fixes palette may do it
then sharpen it a little, failing this someone clever will

| | | Re: Anyway to enhance this photo I have copied and pasted your image into Photoshop. Using levels I have used the middle arrow to adjust the contrast and the plumage has come out relatively well. However you can't sharpen it anymore as you already have an halo effect around the edge of the bird, possibly due to slightly over sharpening already.
It's still not a brilliant image but at least you can see it much better.
It's a shame we can no longer hyperlink an image straight from your PC as I could have shown you the finished article.

| | | Re: Anyway to enhance this photo I downloaded it and tried a varety of levels , hue , saturation etc etc issues , trouble is that the relatively low res leeds to haloing round the image. you might be able to do more with the high res version but this is one of those ones that would be easier to get right in camera.
does your s5000 have a histogram feature ? if it does it is wll worth using it to check the exposure as it is far more reliable than doing it by eye on the LCD. In this case you needed to set a bit of +ve exposure compensation - although that would have bloqwn the highlights in the sky admittedly
