1st Attempt... Better or Worse?

Hi all,

This is my first real attempt at editing... consisting of the Unsharp Mask, De-speckling and Auto Adjust, the first two in GIMP. Both are the same image - the first containing no modifications at all.

The second shot looks better but it has more noise, I took the liberty of using Neat Image on it Jason:

Used Photoshop.
On a duplicate layer
Image-adjust Shadow/highlight (too brighten the head a bit)
Added a gradient mask because after the shadow/highlight was used the left side was too bright.
Run it through Noise ninja.

Thanks for the highlighting thing, it was due to the way the fly was verticle and looking down the stem. I aligned the camera vertcally too, but the light source was till the same, top-down! Oh, and thanks for the Linux link too

In a word... yes. Down from 5mp to 640x480. As I recall I didn't use the full zoom though.

Oh, yes - cropped on-camera.
