| | | Magic wand I have photoshop 7 and was playing about with it and found this tool. Can anyone tell me what it's used for and how to use it. I can only get as far as highlighting areas on the photograph. Thanks in advance once again |

| | | Re: Magic wand I think it's more about what you do with the selected area.. cut, copy, erase, clean up, distort etc...So you use the wand to select an area that you want to work on or get rid of or distort, or move, or copy to somewhere else, etc etc etc... I think |

| | | Re: Magic wand The magic wand tool selects all areas of a picture that have similar tone and colour. (How similar being decided by what tolerance value is set).
Once the tool is activated, and being satisfied that you have the required tolerance, you can manipulate all such selected pixels in whatever manner you like.

| | | Re: Magic wand I have paint.net which has a similar tool, and I've used it to 'remove' some purple fringing by highlighting those areas and converting to monochrome so that it isnt obvious. Its also usefull if youre working in layers. |
