| | | cs3 installation/uninstall probs I have a version of cs3 that due to virus the other week no longer works in my pc. I have another cs3 extended, however, every time I try to install it it says it's conflicting with cs3. When I uninstalled cs3 i didn't know I had to use the uninstaller and just trashed it
Been advised on net to use cleanscript to remove all traces of old cs3. Has anyone ever tried this or did anything else work ? Desperate thanx for any help.

| | | Re: cs3 installation/uninstall probs That wont work if you've already deleted the folder.
You'll need to manually clean all references to Adobe off yer PC and re-install CS3.
To do this go to
1. C:/Programme Files/Common Files - find the Adobe folder and delete it.
2. C:/Documents & Settings/All Users/Application Data - find the Adobe folder & delete it
3. C:/Documents & Settings/your name/Appllication Data - find the Adobe folder & delete it
Application Data folders are "hidden" folders, so you'll have to un-hide them. Go to your Control Panel>Folder options and enable "show hidden folders"
You may also have to delete some references to Adobe in your Registry:-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Adobe
HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Adobe If you are not au fait with registry keys DON'T DO ANYTHING. Get someone who knows what they're doing to sort it. You can seriously mess yer PC if you're not careful. |

It's safe to use as long as you read and understand the options it gives, if I recall correctly it removes all Adobe products though.

| Back up everything on an external drive first!!!
Its one of those 'just in case' policies - if you've done it you probably won't need it, if you haven't it would be awful to wish (too late) that you had........good luck with it! |

| | | Re: cs3 installation/uninstall probs Tried Tormentil's method, unfortunately it refused to delete some files. Then ran the cleanscrip as Davy suggested, did an amzing job and the new cs 3 actually started to install. Left it over night, however, still at the same stage this morning so have abandoned for now. Will run scriptclean thing again tonight and try again. Thanx v much all will keep you posted !!

| | | Re: cs3 installation/uninstall probs Good to hear you're making progress lily.
As you mentioned, try running clean script again, making sure you've rebooted your pc since you last ran it though.
If you're trying to install CS3 from a cd, it may be worth copying the files to a folder on your hard drive and running the install from there, I've known this to work in the past.
I hope this helps, let us know how it's going.
