If you have Photoshop CS2, then to use RAW files from a Canon 400D, you simply need to do an update on CS2 and it will automatically download the required files - at least that's what happened to mine!

I may be stating the obvious, but with CS3, to use RAW you have to load Adobe bridge to load RAW, play around with the RAW and then go to Photoshop. You don't load RAW into photoshop istelf.

My CS3 opens Camera Raw (v 4.6) without opening Bridge, whether they be CR2 or JPEG files.

ACR can be run either from Bridge or Photoshop. With CS2 IIRC there is a difference in being able to edit metadata, whether ACR is run from PS or Bridge.
