Not all members are striving to be 'first class/professional photographers. Remember this site is first and foremost related to 'wildlife and the countryside' hence the name 'Wildaboutbritain' photography is secondary.
I must admit however that in my case photographing wildlife is my number one and I do want to produce the best photos that my ability allows. Whether I make full use of my equipment or 'technical software' is another matter.
Others may accept much less or in some cases strive to be much better. That's for them to decide.
Just my thoughts!

There are programs to suit everyone's needs, you're right John. However, I think that with a little bit of perseverance, you can learn about other programs |

| | | Re: IAZA Web Photo Program but when you want to be good at photography, editing is one of the skills you have to learn, even though it is complex, you can pick up the basics quite quick and then learn as you go along. it's worth it for the better results you get out of it.

Not all members have the aspirations that you appear to have. It is possible for some to accept a lesser standard and be content with the outcome. Some people neither have the aspiration or time to learn new techniques. I know several people who are quite satisfied with the images they obtain straight out of the camera. If this is acceptable to them that is what matters. In fact these people are possibly in the majority of those using digital camera. I have several family members that take digital photos, download to a memory card and go to Jessops or Asda and are delighted with the prints they receive. They basically laugh at the time and trouble I take to process images via software before printing etc.
I am a bit like yourself and do keep trying to get better images and become better at photography but that is my choice as it is obviously yours.
Everyone is different in what they want and what they perceive to be acceptable.
