The reason i shoot in raw is you dont need to worry to much about white balance or shot settings, picture style etc you can set them after.
It leaves you free to compose, focus get the exposure set and take the picture ie you have a little less to worry about when it comes to setting up the camera.
I suppose you could say taking pictures in raw is a bit lazy. I wouldnt like to take the perfect once in a life time picture only to find id forgot to set something like the wb correctly.
