HW | Agreed, I have Photoshop CS2 on my desktop computer and Elements 6 on my laptop and both run fine. It depends on the speed of your computer, not the programme.

I reckon it's poor programming, I have used Photoshop 6 before (the old one) and that was quick enough, I can do similar tasks in paint.net and it's miles faster than the same functions in Elements 5. |

Originally Posted by mart_d50 my pc is plenty fast enough | How much RAM do you have on your computer? Did you disable any anti-virus software before installation? Does your computer meet system requirements for Elements 5? There can be many causes why programmes don't run as they should.
I've not heard any reports of bad programming on Adobe's part. It would be all over the internet it that was the case.
