| | | Re: Messing about with photo software Hello the pics is fine nice one the only thing that annoys me but its being pirnickity is the branch that runs across the background either using the clone tool or patch tool take it out and it should not detract the eye but otherwise well done

| | | Re: Messing about with photo software You've got a good shot there. Again the main difference I did was to balance the levels. There was a lot of flat line with no detail showing. Once that was balanced, the image brightened up nicely. I also ran some blur over the background, just to knock it back a bit. |

| | | Re: Messing about with photo software What software are you using? Most software has some form of level feature. It looks like this:
This is the levels for you Robin shot.
What you can see here is that most of the data, the black block is in the centre. If you look just under the graph, you will see three small pointers. All I did was move the left one slightly towards the block of data, and likewise the one of the right. As you move them you can see instantly the effects on the image, so you can easily judge when you've gone far enough.
This is the first thing I do with any image. |

| | | Re: Messing about with photo software Ignore the output levels. It's generally used when preparing an image for commercial printing press that require you to compress the tonal range of the image.
You can also move the centre pointer, to either darken or lighten the entire image further. |
