I'll certainly try this again when there's at least some half decent light around. Obviously if the site had been even better lit I wouldn't have needed to go as far as ISO 1600, but it's at least another option that's well worth trying. |

| | | Re: High ISO shots and RAW images. That "expose right" link I posted for Pauline last night on my thread may be worth a read Graham, it explains signal to noise ratios etc with overexposed shots.

Mark H | Thanks Mark, I've read that info before. My problem is I can never seem to get the right situation where I can apply the compensation to the right! All of these shots were either -1/3 or -2/3, I was either worried about burnt out highlights, (gull shot) or slow shutter speed. One day the situation will be right when I can go for this expose right business! |

| | | Re: High ISO shots and RAW images. Yes, its not as straightforward as is made out  At least if shooting in Raw though you can recover blown highlights to a certain extent, which is a bonus.
