| | | Computer Advice Please......... I've added a new programme - Adobe something or other from a disc that has come with my new phone and at last can download pics from camera to computer - something I've never mastered before BUT its now taken over all my pics and files and I don't want it to.
How do I turn everything back to the PSP icon? I've tried looking in file prefs and it hasn't gone back to psp. I don't want Adobe in charge and also when I sent email a while ago some recent pics taken with my camera this aft won't open in psp and are 'greyed out' in attachments so I'm not sure the person I've sent them to will be able to open them either..........
I just want all my files to show as PSP7 - what do I click to get it back please?!

Pauline | Hi Pauline, if you right click on an image of the type you want PSP to open, then "open with", it`ll show a selection of programs to open that particular file type. If PSP isnt on that list, simply click on "choose program" at the bottom of the window, then find PSP on that list and select it.Make sure you tick the box where it says "always use the selected program to open this kind of file".Then PSP will be the default program to open those types of files

| | | Re: Computer Advice Please......... Thanks Kayleigh and Mark - I've ended up removing the adobe photomaker or whatever the thing was that came with the phone and thank goodness all pics are now showing psp7 icons once more! I don't need the thingie thats come with the phone - I think I can download phone pics to anywhere I want - not sure but will worry about next time I use the phone! Its not important - the quality isn't in the phone - I just wanted to play and know how to use another bit of technology..........
Thanks for help guys - wish I could remember to right click occasionally - I'll write that on a post it and stick it on the corner of the screen!!!

Stopping Adobe trying to upgrade every 2-3 days is harder I find |

Did the same last night and removed the new adobe and all my pics regained their little PSP icon again but then Outlook Express decided that all the pics attached to all my previous sent mail was suspect and barred it from opening - and greyed them out in the menu........... Grrr.........
I've given in this morning and done a system restore which has removed all the new phone stuff (but I can put that back in next time I need it without the adobe bit and instruct it to download to one of the programs I already have like FotoStation). I just wish I had remembered what an upheaval it causes when putting something new in - esp when its something that doesn;t really matter - its not that I want to really use the phone camera - I just wanted to best the technology and be able to download pics from it if neccessary - you know daft little things where quality doesn't matter but they add a laugh to an email to friends..........
I must be getting old - technology is wonderful but it does keep outwitting me

| | | Re: Computer Advice Please......... Hi PSP, sorry, PMG,
Open the folder with all the photo's, left click on one, edit, then select all, then right click, open with PSP.
Good luck, at least whichever you won't loose them, but back up to cd or dvd, if the worst ever happens you'll only lose a months worth, or the last time you backed up.
Max.

Max. | Thanks Max - this actually sounds like what I did and it worked as everything came back as psp but Outlook Express then treated everything previous as well as any new attachment as suspicious. At this point I gave up and did a system restore. I can put the phone disc back in and copy the relavant bits leaving the adobe out. As I said its not like I really need or want to use the phone camera regularly - its just a useful side string ..............
I do have a question for ericcrove tho - how are you getting on here if not by computer - do you know something we don't
