| | | Re: Pentax PEF or Adobe DNG Hello Beavo dont know much about Pentax PEF thisd is Petax`s own imaging software as for Adobe DNG this is similar to the raw file and no matter what version of Adobe Elements or the Full CS system the DNg will work even if you do not upgrade the program to suit camera.This is Adobes answer to the Negative.
What you have to do is download your files to pc as normal but I would make a backup copy of originals first after download,then convert to DNG (digital negative) once converted save as a Tiff/Jpeg never used it myself just read artical on it in mag the other week.

| | | Re: Pentax PEF or Adobe DNG Hello Beavo I use raw in adobe cs but I have started converting them to DNG this is abobes idea of a common digital negetive format it is great. you can download the DNG sofware free from the adobe site, sorry I have not got a link If you cannot find it give me a shout and I will get some info for you anything else about adobe ask and I will try and answer kind regards Jim |

I heard somewhere that the image quality is slightly better in one format over the other once converted in Photoshop CS with the RAW plugin installed.
