| | | Bristol and Bath how many wabbers? I have seen several posts from people that are in the large Bristol/Bath area
I am _not_ trying to organise anything, just planting seed, so as we know whose posts to watch for "local" news.
A lot of wildlife people like to just get on with it as other people cramp their style, so all I am asking is if you are in this area and post (if not, why not? you are as interesting as the next person) pop your name down please
I like Bats but I don't exclude any wildlife, so I dabble in all the subjects or just read the posts from the people that really know and glean what I can

| | | Re: Bristol and Bath how many wabbers? Hi Nightshade, I'll be back in Bristol in early summer. Mainly Water voles and otters, but I've done bat and crayfish surveying for the wildlife trusts as well as general conservation stuff like scrub clearance for the wildlife trusts.
I found the Avon WT very unhelpful and have struggled to find much in the way of wildlife and conservation groups in Bristol.
Any suggestions gratefully received, I'm in North Bristol as well

| | | Re: Bristol and Bath how many wabbers? Here I am in Peasedown St. John.Able to ramble or now just amble the local area.Have in the past made Bath to Keynsham alongside the River Avon on a very hot day. Also from house to Bath via Wellow ,Midford ,Monkton Coombe,Dundass then along the canal to Bath. Those were the 2 longest. Not able to do that now.Just short trips along the disused canals. Both the Dorset/S omerset canal and the Somersetshire canal.Have visited the batches (coal tips) In the area of which several can be seen on the landscape. Also visited local barrows /hillforts.Midford brook and the Camerton brook have been at different times The very local Camerton woods has much to see at different times of the year. All sorts of wild life seen and many orchids.Fossils have been picked up along the way along with the odd bit of Roman pot.A lot of light pollution here but that does not stop the telescope coming out when clear.Even using spotting scope at times. And of course Wabbing along....aDm...
