| | Research Study at Sheffield Hallam University Hello,
I am an MSc student at Sheffield Hallam University, currently undertaking my dissertation which focuses on the attitudes and perceptions of the general public and other stakeholders towards selected species. The main method of data collection is via a questionnaire, I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a bit of your time to answer it.
The questionnaire can be accessed online using the link below. Survey provided by FreeOnlineSurveys.com
It should take between 5 to 10 minutes to complete, the questions are multiple choice with some species pictures to identify.
Please do not worry if you can't identify the species in questions 6-9, just be honest with your answers.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Kind Regards

Overall a well thought out and well presented survey. However, I suspect you'll get a bit of a skewed result in some parts of the survey with the way it's worded tbh - asking people in a mutliple choice format if invasive or non native species are bad, good etc doesn't allow them to qualify the answers in relation to the type of impact each species may have and how long they have been part of our own ecosystem. Admittedly you address this further down with the selection of non-native and invasive species you've included in your survey. It also concerns me (and this isn't a criticism necessarily of your survey) that the inclusion of your statements about the negative impact of invasive species per se will biais the answers given - obviously some species cause more environmental impact, some cause more economic impact than environmental impact, and some have little or no impact on native flora and fauna . |
