Mike Tomkies Wildlife Writer
To re-iterate a question posed by someone a year or so ago, does anyone know how Mike Tomkies is doing? He had his 80th birthday last May (2008), and I heard that he was unwell. I admire his books and life as an independent wildlife writer and film-maker, and wonder if anyone has up-to-date news about him.

Hi, and welcome to WAB. I did a bit of research on the web and discovered that on his 80th birthday on the 25th May last year he was looking after a derelict farmhouse and nature reserve in Henfield, Sussex but that his health took a turn for the worse and he wasn't able make his annual pilgrimage to Scotland. I don't know if he is still at the farmhouse but I doubt it considering his ill health
