| | | Re: Bill Oddie Quits Great news. Might take up watching Springwatch again. Now all that needs to be done is get rid of Simon and Kate and get some decent presenters and the show will be excellent |

| | | Re: Bill Oddie Quits I think both Kate Humble and Simon King are good and not just as eye candy. Simon in particular deserves support his quiet and gentle approach to conveying an atmosphere as well as his his technical competence are underpinned with a clear passion for both British and World wildlife. Kates skills are less technical but still to be admired as she offers a Personal style that compliments those around her, for me she was the foil for Oddie's quirky approach and is required for continuity.

I won't miss him one little bit. I enjoyed him in on his own wildlife programme where he was knowledgeable and informative and on occasions, entertaining but when he has a fellow presenter he always interrupts or witters on trying to hard to be funny.

| | | Re: Bill Oddie Quits I just hope he's feeling ok. We tend to forget that when he's not doing Spring Watch he's often filming something else, like the series he did travelling America last year.
I have been watching Johnny Kingdom a lot on 'Horse and Country' Channel recently, and I would love to see him do it.
Just no more 'Wildlife Girlies/Tottie' please! (insert 'trying not to vomit' smiley here).
...and if Titchmarsh or Clarkeson get the job I'm SELLING my television!

Shame people can't acknowledge how many young people he's made laugh and become interested in wildlife. I understand why some peeps here think he's too silly, but as someone mentioned earlier, there's a wealth of difference between preaching to the converted and trying to win people over to the idea there's more to life than a wii or pc games. That's 2 different types of presenter needed to please both types surely. | Quote:
