I don't mind who they bring in, anyone will be an improvement for me

Having two 'presenters' as most of these suggestions would give us, could never work surely?...unless the entire thing becomes scripted which would suck!
Titmarsh, Monty Don, Ben Fogle, and the like...including Kate...are just (albeit very pleasant) 'presenters'...granted Kate has picked up some basic knowldge over the years...Packham, King,Ellie, Baker, Buchanan and the like are formerly 'wildlife specialist's/experts' who do some presenting....get it?
We need at least one of each....presenter and expert...ideally 2 experts.... | No you don't, Springwatch is not an in depth natural history programme, It is a light hearted look at familiar wildlife breeding habits, I feel someone such as Monty Don could easily present this with a little research.
Anymore in depth reporting for unusual species is done out in the field by the various experts so i don't see a problem

Shearno | yes but he won't be able pick out any interesting nuggets about species or behaviours off the cuff as someone who knows about these things would. It would just be and here are the grey wagtails.....instead of and here are the grey wagtails, many people open their bird book and think that they must be yellow wagtail because of the lovely flush of yellow on them, but yellow wagtails tend to be farmland birds and have a lovely olive yellow back as well as a yellow tummy......
If you have a knowledgeable person there then you have an opportunity to learn beyond what someone has thought to script - even if they are just little bits. |
