| | | Wasted Wildlife Club Okay, so maybe not up there with Oddie or David Attenborough but allow me to explain my actions. The Wasted Wildlife Club is a group of teens (15 and less) who have practically devoted their lives to wildlife. They are like a young Durrell back in Corfu, except we swap the exotic vegetation and the warm sunshine of the Ionian Island for Basildon...
They show off their work through YouTube; 294 videos and counting. YouTube - Wastedwildlifeclub2's Channel
The reason I post about them is that they really do need the visitors to their videos, comments being posted and ratings rated. How many 'youths' of today do we find going out looking for slow worms? How many help out neighbours by putting up bird feeders? How many film themselves cutting grass for charity (not the most riveting of videos I must add!). They remind me very much of myself when I was a wee nipper, although I did luckily get to spend a lot of my bug hunts on Ionian Islands! I think it would be a shame if these guys didn't get some kind of recognition from the 'wildlife community' for what they are trying to achieve and I sincerely believe that if we help boost their videos others may follow suit.
In a day and age where video games are king, it's a joy to see something like this!
And merry crimbo... I'm off to work! |

| | | Re: Wasted Wildlife Club What fine young folk. All power to their elbow. They need their own website and directions to us. We could give them so much support with what they are achieving. So good to see something like this.

| | | Re: Wasted Wildlife Club Great kids! I would have commented, but like Ron says, you have to sign in.
But tell them that I thought their videos were fab! I was learning a thing or two about slow worms, I can tell you

I'm sure that their own website would be more advantageous than being part of such a large site as YouTube. With their own site, they would also get quite a few more hits via linking with sites such as WAB.
Just one slight negative - The bright green colour scheme, alongside some of the font/text colour choices, makes their YouTube page darned difficult to read in some sections.
But as for their aims and what they've done so far. Brill.
Regards
Mike. |

| | | Re: Wasted Wildlife Club I just think it's a shame they go so unnoticed! They do have there own website, well, did, but now they have changed it and to be honest there is little point linking to it! I just think they are a worthy cause to push, hence why I am championing them. Quote: |

| I am going to design something for them, or at least start to spread some of my marketing knowledge there way.
And I shall defo be sending them this way to WAB, I think it would do them some good to mix with the old bearded monocled nature folk.
Merry crimbo again, just got back from work! Back tomorrow! |
