| | | Any New TV vehicles for Kate Humble? Following the long list of programmes (including "Test Your Pet") presented by Kate Humble (see below for what may be only a partial list) she may soon be running out of things to do. Maybe we can help?
In the past I've heard various new programmes in the "-Watch" series suggested - the least vulgar of which is "WristWatch" and the most omnomatopeic is "Hogwatch" ... but I'm open to other suggestions. "Baywatch" has already been done but I suppose "Baywatch II" is a possibility. "Beewatch" could be the Welsh version and there must be loads in the "Test Your ..." category. Quote:

Autumnwatch
Springwatch
all this and she travelled 1500km through the Sahara desert on foot and camel with salt traders. Quite fancy her myself now | |

Annmaria | Yes, she is a bit of a Spice Girls phenomenon all on her own isn't she? TV presentation is just a form of facilitation work and for that to work both sides have to trust the facilitator. Clearly the people funding the programmes trust her and so do the media types who re-cycle the press releases for the listings pages, and in the business they are the ones who matter.
I don't think she's 'false' though, just a case of butter being too thinly spread. The problem with Humble and Titchmarsh productions is that the subliminal message that comes across is "you too can be a TV presenter" - the topic being aired rather takes a back seat...
There was some fairly forthright discussion of the credibility of current TV presenters in the http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fo...rty-frock.html thread
but there was also some useful stuff on cameracraft etc. It's easy to gush enthusiasm on the first take when working to a tight script. It's much harder on the fifth...
Anyway I look forward to hearing more suggestions, e.g.
"Batwatch" - Kate Humble on village cricket...
"Celebrity Volewatch" Kate Humble meets Count Vol(e)demort ...
"Harewatch" Kate Humble goes into haredressing... could be grooming, could be fashion, could be cookery... |

| | | Re: Any New TV vehicles for Kate Humble? "Celebrity Catflap" - big potential in the feline accommodation slot. Pets & home improvements combined with "resting" TV personalities. The logical sequel to "My Cat's Too Fat" though that Roger Mellie may have already done this one...
"ZebraWatch UK" a weekly look at who is crossing particular zebra crossings. Done in the style of an East African wildlife documentary substituting commuters for wildebeest. Plucky grannies brave the revving menace of predatory white van man. Celebrities who just happen to be crossing the road when the crew is out filming talk to Kate about their latest project. Webcam potential here, plus real human interest...
"Challenge Kate" - competitors make up farcical TV programmes and KH has to present them...
"Humble Abode" KH answer to "Peter and Katy" or whatever it's called

| | | Re: Any New TV vehicles for Kate Humble? A kate Humble on ........ series would be good. She could choose a subject ie wildlife and present a programme called Kate Humble on wildlife. Or we could send her topics
Kate Humble on Wobble Daggers for instance.
Only a thought
