Bill Oddie - I've added a profile page for the wildlife presenter Bill Oddie, please feel free to fill in some of the blanks if you know the relevant info.

William Edgar Oddie, OBE (born 7 July 1941) is an English actor, writer, comedian, natural history presenter and musician. He became famous as one of the The Goodies.
A birdwatcher since his childhood in Birmingham, Oddie has now established a reputation for himself as an ornithologist, conservationist and television presenter on wildlife issues. Some of his books are illustrated with his own paintings and drawings.
Oddie's wildlife programmes for the BBC include: Springwatch / Autumnwatch, How to Watch Wildlife, Wild In Your Garden, Birding with Bill Oddie, Britain Goes Wild with Bill Oddie and Bill Oddie Goes Wild.

Although born in Rochdale, he was brought up by his father in Birmingham as his mother was sectioned in a Psychiatric Hospital.
He attended King Edwards school in Birmingham and then studied at Cambridge where he appeared in Footlight productions.
Married to Laura Beaumont and have a daughter Rosie. He also has another two daughters from a previous marriage to Jean Hart. He also has one grandchild, Lyle.
Was awarded an OBE in 1963 for services to wildlife conservation.

I think he has a myspace page where you can keep up with his events and activities..
He's also had alot of complaints overs his so called 'smutty' commentary on certain mating activities of certain creatures whilst doing springwatch (brilliant) and winterwatch (brilliant). just Oddie being Oddie (ie brilliant, again), maybe not the best adjusted of personalities but funny, although but some people didn't think so!! |
